Backdrops and Portraits
Joseph Pesina, studio manager and technician at the Clay Studio in Missoula, sits for some film portraits.
September 13, 2026 I meet up with Joseph to make some portraits in the front of the backdrop I have recently painted. My friend and mentor, Roy Caldwell, had recently given me stands to support a backdrop and I needed someone to get in front of it.
Contact sheet of negatives from the shoot. Shot on HP5 at 400 in my Mamiya C330 F with an 80mm lens and a remote trigger to an off-camera flash + octabox.
