Evan wallies in Butte, America
In July, Evan and I set off to Ennis for the soft-opening of the new skatepark. There was a good turnout of skaters, scooters and a sole roller skater.

The crowd was in awe of the roller skater’s plant.
We saw Jay from World Boards and Red from Dreamland
We poured moulds of Red’s fist with plaster he had brought. Red told us the revolution is in our minds.
As the event wound down, we could see the weather changing over the mountains. After pizza at a local brewery, we hit the gas station and headed to find a camp spot.
Pulled over to catch the rainbow behind us. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in b+w.

Evan assists with some light play around midnight. We could hear our neighbor campers say, “What’s that flashing? It’s freaking me out!”

The next morning, Evan tells me that we’re going to Butte so he can check off challenges for Madness in the Mountain.

Print of Evan’s wallie off of the Jersey barrier before bombing the hill. As he passes the light pole on the left, he powerslides at it in celebration, hitting his tail and pulling away, making the metal ring. It was very sick.

This spot is sketchy. Evan eyes the mound of crust before taking a quick trip down.
One of the hill bombs required for Madness in the Mountains. I was filming Evan out of his sunroof, while taking a photo out the windshield, driving with my knee with a foot on the brake to make sure I didn’t flatten him if he fell.
This ditch spot was a bit more mellow than some in Butte, but going over the culvert is a different story. Evan ollies over the hole.
You can see the hours of skating in the 90+ heat starting to show.
Evan still had some fight in him as I request a frontside rock on this “ditch” spot.
The last spot before I had to get back to Missoula, Evan gets a rock to fakie before we roll out of Butte.
